The photocell appears to work just fine. I like that it came with a black rubber cap for testing and the split lock ring. Plugs right in to the transformer with a directional plug so no confusion there.

My only complaint here is that the knockout on the side of the Volt transformers is a 1/2" and 3/4". But it is designed so that you have to knock the 1/2" out from the inside and in doing so you end up taking the 3/4" knockout with it. The photocell is designed to work with a 1/2" hole so I have had to buy 3/4" to 1/2" reducing washers to make it work.

I would suggest that they just make it a 1/2" knockout only as I can't imagine a need for a 3/4" knockout on the top side of the transformer.

Failure after about 3 years. Unplugged and use jumper. Now just turn system ON/OFF manually.
Note: Transformer panel located in garage. Photocell protected and kept dry by elevated rock surround.

The photo cell did not come with the hardware necessary to fit the knock out on the transformer so I had to go to Ace Hardware to figure out something that would work

I bought this later after I purchased lights and transformer since I didn't know it was available. I had talked to customer service concerning the lights to buy but the photocell was not mentioned- would have saved $8 in shipping costs if I had known. Even though it was easy to install (had to figure it out) it would have been nice to have an instruction sheet. Other than that, the photocell works great - photocell come on at dusk and goes out per the timer (that's not mentioned anywhere either that the timer can control the shut off)

This unit works very well and stay true to the daylight hr.'s. Need to wipe the top off on a yearly sch. just to get the dirt off of it so it works as it should..

All was great except these are very weak at the screw/swivel joint. Mine broke almost right out of the box. But nothing a Stainless Steel washer can't fix!

This is the only part that I received from my Volt order that I think is not in keeping with the companies high level of quality. The arm should be metal not plastic. It broke before I even had it fully tightened, and I had to use to some other pieces I had around to secure it to the box.

After a few tries my  landscaper was not confident  that he would be able to punch a hole thru the transformer without damaging it. Therefore this photocell is unused. What a waste of money !!
