I now have 8 puck lights in a much larger array of Volt lights.

I started with one to light underneath an outdoor patio bench.  The effect was so dramatic I lit 5 more benches.

The most recent application was to put two under the soffit over the garage door.  Again the effect was perfect to kill the shadows and cast a gentle wash of light over the entire double door area.

The next plan is to put another one shining down from a tree over an outdoor fountain.

I already have another in an outdoor fountain submerged and point up to light the fountain from within since the puck lights are completely sealed and waterproof.

I ordered a few of these lights to test for a few applications.  They work great for the applications I have tested. I made light shrouds for some out of 1.625 OD x 1.5 ID Type L copper pipe and cut the shroud similar to a tree down light.  To me for building soffit use the taper worked best starting at slightly over 5/8" , just enough to cover the brass on the short side. I used a carbide blade on a trim cutoff saw. The saw I used was a compound miter and there was no place to clamp the piece so if you can't clamp leave the blade down and let the saw stop keeping your body to the other side of the small piece.
I then drilled and taped the copper for an small machine set screw. It could be held on with very small dab of silicone.

GREAT LIGHT !!!!!!  Just wish it came with  a 3000k or maybe slightly more.

5 of 5 Great little light July 24, 2015
Reviewer: Robert Simon from West Palm Beach, FL United States
I was actually blown away by the brightness. Had to install a dimmer. Now I can adjust the level for whatever mood I'm in.

The lights are very solid and look like they could withstand anything.

My application was to gut the worthless solar led paver lights I had and put 1 of these in each. Worked great.

5 of 5 Puck lights June 25, 2015

Installed puck lights along side of bocce ct facing woods, every 10 ft and one at each end.  Appreciated the review regarding brightness and on stairs, so we didn't install pucks facing the house.  Brighter than we (& customer service) thought.  fun & surprisingly functional accent lighting!  Appreciated customer service was available on weekends, when we were installing too.

The volt lighting family of fixtures is a great solution to overpriced fixtures. Well constructed and reasonably priced. With fast shipping. Thanks.

2 of 5 Step Usage March 23, 2015

Lights work well, and solid built, but using in step situation isn't good.   The light is brighter than you think, and since light projects out (not down), using on vertical rise of stair tread puts the light right in your eyes if you are sitting down.    I suggest a version of this that has a down louvre/shade to target light at step below.
