The Hammer™ 10" Ground Stake with Brass Insert

A Landscape Lighting Innovation, Designed & Engineered Exclusively by VOLT™
Landscape lighting fixture stakes are typically small so that installers may more easily push them into the ground; but with these small stakes, fixtures can tilt due to insufficient anchoring. With this new Hammer¸¸™ Stake we provide an an extra long (10") and extra wide (3") stake that presents a much larger surface area to the soil for a significantly better and longer lasting anchor for the fixture. The brass insert is an additional improvement. It provides corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant threads. The brass threads in the stake mate perfectly with the brass fixture threads for the ultimate fixture support.

The Hammer™ 10" Ground Stake with Brass Insert Features:

  • New threaded solid brass insert with wire slot to mate perfectly with brass threads on fixture.
  • Extra-long (10") x extra-wide (3") Stake - largest in the industry for greatly increased surface area and long-term stability.
  • Designed for insertion into the ground before attaching fixture. This makes it possible to hammer the stake into the ground without damaging the fixture. The wire slit enables you to insert the fixture after the stake is securely seated.
  • Universal 1/2" NPSM threads fit onto any standard fixture.
  • Add the brass stake cover that fits over the stake for the ultimate premium look.

Q.What materials is this stake made out of?

A.The stake itself is made of PVC and the insert is solid brass.

Q.Whats different about this stake and the standard Hammer Stake?

A.This stake is the same size and material as the original Hammer Stake but the brass insert makes better contact with our brass threads on our fixtures.

Q.Can I still use the solid brass top cover with this?

A.Yes, the solid brass top cover will still fit this stake because the threads are on the inside and do not extend upward.

The Hammer ground stake is made to withstand any ground application.  The brass insert is highly recommended to insure a proper connection with the light fixture being used.

I ordered a bunch of lights for backyard. I was somewhat unhappy with the standard, free, hammer stake.  These are the only ones worth getting, IMHO.
The others tend to allow cross-threading etc. Brass inserts work great.

I complained to VOLT a couple of years ago that the traditional ground stake would occasionally get cross-threaded and once that happened it was unusable.  

I can't take credit for the brass insert, but it was a smart, simple move that easily solved the problem.  I am most pleased that VOLT is listening to their customers and implementing the feedback into future enhancements.

Another well made product by this company.  I was  pleasantly surprised that they really dig into the ground and secure the fixtures very well.  I suggest you get the brass insert too - it's peace of mind for me just in case someone or something accidentally bumps into your fixture.
